Group Art Tuition

Workshops for All Skill LevelsHalf or Full Day Options from:

£190.00

Including All Materials

In addition to my One to One Art Tuition, which has a Plus One option, I also offer Group Art Tuition for larger parties who’re looking for guided group learning. The format and structure of this workshop is very similar to my “One to One”, however, it’s intended to cater for between 3 and 6 students in my own studio near Northallerton, or larger groups at other locations as requested.Typically for my group art tuition sessions I’ll suggest some options regarding possible themes for the workshop, based on the direction the group would like to explore, perhaps in subject matter, or media, basic or more advanced techniques, etc,. Learning in a small group can be great fun for everyone, and as with all my workshops I strive to open up new creative landscapes, and hopefully awaken the sense in us all that being creative is simply one imaginative step after another.

Art Groups, Societies and other larger groups at locations other than my studio, please get in touch with me using the link just below for more details.

Included in the workshop is simply everything you’ll need for your dive into creativity. Including refreshments, tea, coffee and homemade cake.

Please see the tab below What To Bring for more information.

After arrival we’ll have a quick chat about your desires for the workshop and run through the structure of our work together, then we’ll get straight into things.Typically in any 3 hour stretch (1 per half day, 2 per full day) I aim for a break roughly at the mid-point, which is usually a good point to have a quick review and make any adjustments to programme as required. In a full day we’ll break for lunch and afterwards have another quick review along with any adjustments. The programme of the day remains fluid throughout – my experience is that fixation on an objective can often blind us to serendipity. In any creative activity there’s much to said for following a path that reveals itself as part of the learning process, perhaps to something, or somewhere, new.

This workshop is for everyone. All my Imagine Yourself Creative workshops are structured to cater for a wide range of abilities, and reflect my teaching style – one small imaginative step at a time.My own artwork is a blend of process and practise founded on a few simple rules, one of which is to keep things as simple as possible.

When you have a beginners mindset, you’re not worried about looking smart. You’re more interested in exploration, discovery, asking questions, trying new things, and perhaps above all you see opportunities instead of obstacles in your learning experience.

How to Practice the Beginner’s MindsetAsk more questions. Especially basic fundamental questions.Be open to feedback. This should feel like a conversation between you and your creative project.Let go of being right. Focus on being open, learning not winning.Try something completely new. We are numbed by comfort, push yourself into a new space.Stay curious. Imagine how a child would respond to what you see and feel.
