Pay ONLY 50% when you place your order! Pay the rest on completion – and only if you’re happy with your painting!

Artist: Julia NobleOriginal Artwork: Watercolour on premium British made watercolour paper.Artwork Size: Approx 11″ x 8″ – 275mm x 200mm.Overall Framed Size: Approx 16″ x 13″ – 405mm x 330mm.

Framed Painting. This frame design is from my standard range – Moulding Style 22 which you can view [here], in Obeche wood, hand finished with Farrow & Ball paint in three colour options.Ready To Hang. The frame is supplied ready to hang with all the fixings attached – so straight from the box to the wall.Glazing. I use Acrylic (you may recognise brand names like Plexiglass) for all my framing that requires glazing. Acrylic offers better protection against UV light than glass without specialised anti-UV treatments, it’s lighter and much less prone to transport damage, and it has no colour tint unlike glass.

Mounted Painting. The painting is mounted using conservation grade mountboard and backing boards, all presented in a cellophane wrap.I’ve opted for a single colour from my standard Conservation Grade Mountboard range – in this instance a Daler Tint 4 mountboard.

Colours On Your Screen. All screens show colour a little differently, so if you’re interested in seeing accurate framing colours, a paint colour card is the only way to go. I’ve included a link so you can obtain a (free) F&B colour card by clicking [here].

These options can be added to your order at any time prior to despatch of your painting, just order online [here], click the button below, or get in touch and let me know what options you’d like to add.

Digital File. In addition to your painting I can supply a high quality digital file for various applications.

Giclée Fine Art Print. This type of specialised printing is for the highest quality fine art reproduction.

Bespoke Personal Stationery. Boxed set of personalised notepaper and notecards, with your painting and personal details (if required).

Bespoke Greetings Cards. Boxed pack of greetings cards and envelopes, with our without personal details.

All of these additional options are designed and made entirely in my North Yorkshire studio.

Tips For Your ImagesMost of the images I receive are from camera phones, which are usually fine to work from as long as the image quality is good. Aside from the obvious, good light, in focus, and not too distorted from the wide angle phone camera lens; the single most important thing is perspective, the second is good quality lighting. I can only work from the images provided, so when you’re creating the images think about your position to your subject and the quality of the light to create an image that as closely as possible represents the perspective and colour tones of the painting you’d like.

Phone Cameras – A WarningMost smart phone cameras will provide sharp, good quality images which are great for an artist to get the detail just right. However, we all have a tendency to get too close to the subject and (due to the types of lenses in camera phones) this can result in distortions of the features and proportions, which is generally not ideal in a portrait. So, keep your distance and use the zoom feature to size the image rather than move the phone towards your subject.

Multiple ImagesTake a few images from different angles – while keeping your distance – this will help me create a more accurate portrait.

Uploading Your ImagesSimply select, or drag, your images to the upload box and when you place your order they will be submitted also.

I offer two payment structures for my Architectural Portraits.Place your order and only pay 50% of the price direct to me, with the balance only payable when the portrait is finished. You can at that point reject the portrait and there’ll be no further payment due, though of course I’ll keep the portrait. I’m confident to make this offer as I’ve never had a client choose this option. Or, alternatively choose to use a payment programme via Klarna, Clearpay etc for the full amount at the checkout.

If you have any questions about payment or require any further details please do get in touch.

Frequently Asked Questions - Architectural Drawings & Paintings

It depends, of course, but in general Line Drawings start at £95.00, Watercolour Original Paintings at £225.00, and the Original Oil Paintings vary too much to give a useful average price. You can view the pricing for the first two on my online shop along with other details.

The Line Drawings are usually completed within 1 working week, precise timing just depends on my workload at the time. The Original Watercolour Paintings generally takes around 2 weeks, again work-load dependent. I always confirm my anticipated despatch at the time of order. Original Oil Paintings usually take longer, in addition to scheduling the subject and scale of the work can make a big difference to timing.

As standard I supply my artwork for non-commercial use, which allows for reasonable personal enjoyment and use, but excludes reproduction for profit or any commercial use. If you require artwork for commercial use I offer commercial licensing as required. Copyright to any artwork is automatically assigned to the artist, and remains with the artist unless stated expressly assigned in writing.

I usually work with mages from phone cameras, and as long as they’re in focus, well lit, and not too distorted from the wide angle of phone cameras lenses, there’s nothing special about the image. However, the content and perspective are critical, I can only create from what’s on the image so position yourself with perspective in mind when taking the image.

A Line Drawing is a digital file by default, though it can also be supplied as a Giclée fine art print, and in turn this can be framed if required. An Original Watercolour Painting is painted on watercolour paper, though it can be supplied also as a digital file, and similar to the Line Drawing it can also be supplied framed.

Yes, I have some standard sizes that I work to, but I’m happy to chat about bespoke sizes if required. The Line Drawing digital file is supplied as a print quality file at A4 size as standard.

I offer three printed products from Architectural Drawing or Painting; Stationery Sets: Boxed sets of notepaper and notecards, Greetings Cards: Premium quality print on heavyweight cardstock, Giclée Fine Art Prints: Printed using archival quality inks and papers. All of these products are designed, printed and made in my studio.

I offer preferential rates for framing along with plenty of style options, depending on your requirements and the artwork. I have a selection of standard framing themes that work well with Line Drawings & Original Watercolour Paintings, just get in touch if you’re interested in framing options. All my framing is made and finished in my studio.
